According to German edition AutoBild, company Opel has begun work on car absolutely new to which will receive name Allegra. This model becomes the smallest Opel, and among its competitors will appear such models as Smart Fortwo and Toyota iQ.
The length new Opel Allegra will make an order of three metres. However, despite such modest dimensions, in the machine there will be a place for four persons (the same dimensions and possibilities on public conveyance at Toyota iQ). Well and under a cowl of the smallest Opel will start to put petrol and diesel motors in volume of 0,6-1,0 l which will give out 50-100 h.p.
However, while nobody knows, whether can Opel begin serial release Allegra or not. After all now the company financial position very difficult, besides is fast at the company there will be new owners (it is Canadian Magna and Russian "Savings Bank"). So many experts assume that the next years Opel will be compelled to refuse workings out of essentially new models and to concentrate on development of the most popular cars. Such as Astra, Corsa and Zafira.
