Just in time for the summer cruising season, Scion is updating its coupes with additional equipment and more exterior color choices. Both the 2015 Scion tC and FR-S go on sale this June; the tC's prices carry over, the FR-S sees only a small price increase for 2015.
The FR-S coupe was new for 2013 and received a standard touch- screen audio system for 2014. For 2015, Scion gave the coupe a more rigid front suspension and retuned the rear shock absorbers for "a more communicative driving experience," the automaker said in a statement.
Outside, a there's a new "shark-fin" style antenna and larger, more flush exhaust tips. Inside, auto on-off headlights are standard and the instrument panel gets a new design with carbon-fiber-like trim. The 2015 FR-S starts at $25,655 for six-speed manual models, $26,755 for automatics. That's a slight increase over model-year 2014 versions, which start at $25,455 (all prices include a $755 destination fee).
Scion's entry-level coupe also gets some minor changes for 2015 after its 2014 face-lift. Automatic versions of the tC now get standard steering-wheel paddle shifters. New exterior colors this year include Cosmic Gray and Blizzard Pearl. Manual transmission versions of the 2015 Scion tC again start at $19,965, automatics at $21,115 (both prices include destination).
