Four trim levels are available this year, with the previous model's 2.5i Sport version not announced for 2015. The other two trims are the 2.5i Premium, which starts at $24,290, and the 2.5i Limited, which starts at $27,290. Estimated fuel economy is 26/36 mpg city/highway, up 2 mpg city and 4 mpg highway. The 3.6R Limited is powered by a 3.6-liter six-cylinder Boxer engine mated to a new high-torque CVT, making 256 hp and mileage of 20/29 mpg city/highway, up 2 mpg and 4 mpg.

The base model comes standard with new safety equipment, including driver and front passenger seat cushion airbags and LED clearance lights and taillight elements, as well as welcome lighting. It also comes with a 6.2-inch multimedia touch-screen, HD radio with a single-disc CD player and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Premium is available with three options packages, the Power Moonroof Package ($1,195), Navigation System ($500) and a safety package including Subaru's EyeSight system with blind spot monitoring and lane change assist, as well as rear cross-traffic alert and steering responsive fog lights ($1,195).

The 2.5i Limited adds perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon surround stereo system, a 10-way power driver's seat, heated rear seats, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection System, exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, fog lights and wood-grain-pattern accent trim. Options packages include the Moonroof Package, Keyless Access & Push-Button Start and Navigation, which can be bundled for $2,195, with EyeSight for an additional $795.

The 3.6R Limited flagship sedan adds high-intensity-discharge headlights and dual stainless exhaust tips. All options packages available on the 2.5i Limited are also available on the 3.6R Limited.

The Legacy's $22,490 base price is between the 2014 starting prices of competitors the Honda Accord ($22,745) and Toyota Camry ($23,235). At $30,390, the 3.6R Limited starts below Camry and Accord's top trims, which start at $31,515 and $34,270, respectively. The Legacy comes standard with all-wheel drive, however.
