Porsche 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition: You Want One, Probably Can’t Have One

2016 Porsche 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition

-

Leave it to Porsche, in the 2016 911's twilight, to release a special-edition version just before we're treated to the turbo-y goodness of the 2017 911 Carrera and Carrera S. The automaker long known for stretching the 911 lineup as far as it could is debuting the 2016 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition at, you guessed it, this year's Rennsport Reunion, a gathering of the brand faithful and classic Porsche race cars at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Based on the outgoing 911 GTS, the Rennsport Reunion Edition boasts a 430-hp naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine and is available exclusively with a manual transmission. We like it based on that fact alone. But it gets better—Porsche tosses in 18-way power sports seats, the PASM adaptive suspension, a Bose audio system, rear parking sensors, carbon-fiber dashboard trim, 20-inch sport classic wheels, adaptive headlights (PDLS, or Porsche Dynamic Light System), and a host of sweet decals for the hood, doors, roof, and decklid.

Owners willing to pony up the $149,330 for the special-edition GTS will be further rewarded with a key fob painted the same Fashion Gray as the car, plus a special leather case for the key with "911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition" lettering. Just 25 of the tricked-out GTSs will be built, all of them for North America.
