Great news for Mustang fans everywhere: Saleen Automotive has announced it is in the midst of tweaking Ford's new-for-2015 Mustang. To mark the event, the tuning outfit has released a single photo previewing the presumably muscled-up whip. The Saleen 302 Mustang, as it will be called, marks a refreshing return to form for Saleen, which recently branched way, way outside of its typical purview by commencing modification work on Tesla's electric Model S sedan. As intriguing as that project may be, Saleen is a company that was built on Mustang tuning, and we'd have been shocked if it had passed up the opportunity to tweak Ford's latest pony car.

So what is Saleen planning for the 2015 Ford Mustang? It isn't saying—but we can make a few guesses. For starters, there's the 302 name, which suggests the Saleen 302 Mustang will get 302 cubic inches of displacement, or the same as the stock 2015 Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V-8. Saleen doesn't specify what, if any, mods it has in store for the V-8, but the hood will have a scoop, so there's that. Speaking of vents and body openings, the Saleen 302 certainly has a lot of them, at least up front, where the 2015 Mustang's face has been transformed into a rather, uh, Chevrolet Camaro–like mug.
So far, that's all we know about the Saleen 302 Mustang, but buyers can begin placing orders for the car now. Expect deliveries to begin—and more information to trickle out—later this year.
