What It Is: AMG's idea of an entry-level sports car, similar in style to the SLS AMG but priced significantly lower and aimed squarely at the likes of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the Audi R8, and the Porsche 911. The new model, which could be called GT or SLC—the latter a nameplate not seen since the 1970s—draws heavily from the architecture used by the SLS. The SLS landed on American showroom floors in 2011 and will continue to be sold alongside the new model, which is internally referred to as C190; the new car isn't intended to serve as a replacement.
