Tennessee Prepares For An Onslaught Of Rogues

Nissan's move to localize production of their cars and trucks is moving full steam ahead. The next generation Rogue, built on the new modular CMF architecture, will be manufactured at Nissan's plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.

The move is expected to add 900 jobs at the plant, with production commencing in the fall. Currently, CMF is slated to underpin a number of world market vehicles like the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Scenic, but if Smyrna is being configured to build a CMF-based vehicle, one can only wonder what's in store for Nissan's future vehicles. If the D-segment Renault Laguna can be built off of it, how about the Altima?
