Kia Announces Pricing for the 2014 Cadenza

Kia announced this week that its reentry into the full-size sedan segment, the 2014 Cadenza, will start at $35,900 (including an $800 destination charge) when it hits dealerships later this month. The sedan — powered by a 3.3-liter direct-injection V-6 good for 293 horsepower and paired with a six-speed, sport-tuned automatic transmission — will be available in one trim level with two available options packages. The Korean automaker calls the Cadenza, which debuted at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, its "most powerful and technologically advanced" vehicle ever offered in the U.S. It is also Kia's first full-size sedan since the Amanti's departure a couple of years ago. "Aside from a unique blend of European-inspired design, dynamic performance and high levels of refinement, Kia's newest flagship offers class-leading interior room and standard features," Kia said in a statement. Standard features include keyless entry, navigation with SiriusXM Traffic and UVO eServices voice-activated multimedia system, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, an 8-inch touch-screen, 12-speaker Infinity audio system, backup camera and leather-trimmed seats with heat and power adjustment in the front. The two options packages are Luxury and Technology. Luxury, starting at $38,900 (including destination), adds a full-length panoramic sunroof with a power retractable sunshade, Nappa leather trim with heated rear outboard seats and a ventilated 12-way adjustable driver seat, high-intensity discharge headlights with an adaptive front lighting system, a 7-inch customizable LCD instrument cluster, a heated steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping, and a two-position memory setting for the driver's seat, exterior mirrors and steering column. Adding the Technology Package builds on the Luxury Package with 19-inch alloy wheels, an electronic parking brake, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, a blind spot warning system and the automaker's first-ever lane departure warning system in addition to water-repelling front side windows for enhanced visibility in rain. The Technology Package costs $41,900 (including destination).
