First Official 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class Photo Apparently Published by Benz Itself

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class

It appears as though we have been gifted our first look at the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class courtesy of Mercedes-Benz itself. A photo of the redesigned luxury sedan apparently popped up on Benz's Austrian consumer website; it allegedly was quickly taken down, but not before French site blogautomobile.fr snatched it and published it. We know this is the 2014 S-class because, well, our spy photographers recently captured the big sedan completely uncovered, and this looks the same. Not exactly high-level stuff, this photo-comparison business, but somebody's got to do it.

As you can see, the next-generation S-class adopts Mercedes' latest styling language and looks somewhat like a plus-sized CLA-class. This isn't to say the Benz is bad-looking—in fact, to our eyes it is quite the opposite. The outgoing car's busier styling elements have been replaced by smooth, flowing, and handsome surfaces punctuated by elegant details. We've already seen the S-class's fancy new interior duds, and the cabin will meet, if not exceed, the luxurious promise of the exterior. And what would a new S-class be without a cornucopia of fresh technology and convenience features? Expect the new über-Benz to debut sometime soon and to go on sale before the end of the year.
