C/D: You're on your way to a vintage race at Lime Rock, where some of your old cars will be competing. Are you surprised that vintage racing has become so popular?

SM: I'm glad to see the cars out there— they are worth so much more money and are in so much better condition now than when they were new. A Maserati when it came out of the factory was in nowhere near as good a condition as it is after someone has spent years restoring it. The thing that concerns me is that people have to realize those cars were dangerous at the time, and they're not going to be less dangerous now, you know? READ MORE ››
