The 24 Hours of LeMons traveling circus is wrapping up a great 20-race 2012 season at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Texas, and the LeMons Supreme Court and the tech inspectors did their customary scrutiny of the 38 teams that were hardcore enough to spend New Year's weekend in freezing-cold Decatur, Texas. Your LeMons correspondent is taking a vacation from his duties as Chief Justice of the LeMons Supreme Court, so these photographs come to us courtesy of Speedycop Gang of Outlaws member Ron Vickers.
 Judge Frank (left) and Judge Scott (right) have donned the robes of the LeMons Supreme Court, in addition to the insulated coveralls required for work in 25-degree weather.
T.A.R.P. Racing is there with their 1967 Simca GLS1000 (mounted on a Toyota MR2 chassis). Speedycop and the Gang of Outlaws have also brought their MR2-chassis-equipped Lancia Scorpion.
Crazy Mike— who earned his nickname— dragged the -ing With Bad Ideas Volkswagen Beetle, winner of Class C the last time LeMons came to this track, out from California. With a Vanagon as a tow vehicle. That's why nobody calls him Normal Mike.
Just as we saw teams with "Don't Taze Me Bro" themes back in 2007, so was it inevitable that we would see a team with a Hostess theme this year. This one looks pretty well done.
NSF Racing towed their Aries K wagon from Florida, only to discover that the cage— built solo by team captain Bob in a not-so-expert welding frenzy after most of his teammates abandoned him— failed the tech inspection on many, many counts. Fortunately, DC Doug of the Gang of Outlaws spent the day disassembling and rewelding the cage, which should mean that we'll have the very first Chrysler K-Car in six years of the 24 Hours of LeMons (we've had many K-derivative-based Chryslers, but never a pure K).
But, really, nobody is even capable of paying any attention to 37 of the 38 entries at this race, because LeMons Legend and 2011 Coppa di Bondo winner Spank showed up from San Diego with a vehicle so spectacular that it burned out everyone's cerebellums the moment they laid eyes upon it: the Hell's Treehuggers Harley-Davidson-engined Toyota Prius.
There's a chain-driven Harley Sportster 1100cc V-twin in the front, driving a welded differential.

Chief Perp Jay Lamm believes that this car will go about 100 yards on the track before it starts spitting out chains and connecting rods, but maybe it will run like a train all weekend.
