2013 Opel Adam: Like You’d Call a Person, But It’s a Car

Good news is what Opel, GM's German subsidiary, needs right now. More than two years after a failed sales bid to supplier Magna, the Rüsselsheim-based brand still hasn't gained sufficient traction. A key model in Opel's turnaround strategy is now launched, and it's called Adam. Like you'd call a person, except this person is a car. Adam Opel was the brand's founder (he hated cars), but an Opel spokesman informed us that the naming has nothing to do with the old man at all. This, in other words, is not Opel's Enzo. According to Opel, Adam simply is a perfect name that sounds classic and contemporary in any language.
