Nissan Previews Five Redesigned Models in Video, Including New Sentra, Rogue, and Versa Hatch

Five new Nissans

This week at the New York auto show, Nissan announced plans to unveil five new models over the next 15 months. The 2013 Altima sedan that debuted at the show is the first, and will be followed by the production version of the 2013 Pathfinder and a new Sentra. Nissan's press conference included a brief video that shows the five cars driving around covered in billowing white sheets (look out!). We have a pretty good idea of what's under the other two sheets.

Moving from left to right in the image above, we suspect the first mystery vehicle is the hatchback version of the latest Versa, which is expected to debut sometime this year. (Compare the covered-up car above to this not-U.S.-spec Versa hatch.) Next is the upcoming 2013 Pathfinder, which was previewed in concept form at this year's Detroit auto show. In the center is the new Altima, and to its right is a small, high-riding vehicle. We're thinking this is the redesigned Rogue compact crossover, which has been around in essentially the same form since the 2008 model year. Finally, the compact sedan to the right of the Rogue is the next Sentra. As we were previously told by Nissan's head of design, the Sentra will adopt an Altima-like front-end design, and that's clear even through the sheet.

Five new Nissans

The Sentra likely is next in line to be revealed, given the company confirmed that it is one of the five cars. We'd wager the Versa and Rogue will arrive sometime later in the 15-month timeline Nissan is giving itself for the new-model rollout.
