2013 Cadillac XTS Priced at $44,075

The 2013 Cadillac XTS will go on sale with a starting price of $44,075, excluding a $920 destination fee. It goes on later this spring, according to the automaker. That's a significant $2,605 decrease from the XTS' predecessor — the 2011 Cadillac DTS, which started at $46,680 — and yet the XTS is better equipped and more fuel efficient than that model. A comparably equipped 2013 Lincoln MKS is still more affordable at $42,810 while the 2012 Infiniti M37 costs more at $47,700. A comparably equipped 2012 Chrysler 300 Limited or 2012 Hyundai Genesis costs significantly less, at $32,470 and $34,200, respectively. The XTS comes standard with dual exhaust, 10-way power front seats, passive keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, perforated leather upholstery, eight-speaker Bose stereo, Sapele wood trim, "cut and sew" dash and trim, high-intensity-discharge headlights, rear parking sonar and 19-inch aluminum wheels. The XTS also comes standard with Cadillac's new CUE multimedia system with a standard 8-inch touch display. Magnetic Ride Control, a rear air suspension and Brembo brakes are also standard. All XTS models come with only one powertrain: a 300-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive optional; Cadillac hasn't revealed pricing for the all-wheel-drive model yet. The XTS will achieve 17/28 mpg city/highway with front-wheel drive. Cadillacs are no longer offered in trims. Instead, there is one model with multiple "option collections," as Cadillac calls them. For the XTS, there are Luxury, Premium and Platinum option packages. Features in those packages include a backup camera, rain-sensing wipers, a navigation system, panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades and 20-inch wheels. Adaptive cruise control, pre-emptive braking and rear cross traffic alert safety systems are also available. Additional enhancements to the CUE system, such as a 12.3-inch reconfigurable LCD instrument cluster, are also available. Pricing for those options wasn't released.
