BMW Recalling 368,000 Vehicles

BMW is recalling 368,000 5 Series and 6 Series vehicles from the 2003-10 model years because of a potential problem with the car battery, according to Reuters. In some of the vehicles, the electrical system may malfunction because the battery cable cover was incorrectly mounted, BMW told Reuters. As a result, the vehicle may not start or a fire may be ignited, BMW said. Less than 1% of the vehicles tested exhibited the issue, BMW says. BMW says it's not aware of any injuries resulting from the defect. The carmaker will repair the cable free of charge, and the repair should take about 30 minutes to complete, Reuters says.
