2013 Lexus ES Confirmed for NYC, Previewed in Photo [New York Auto Show]

Lexus has released a preview image of the redesigned ES, confirming that the car will appear at next week's New York auto show. Although the image shows only a close up of a headlight and part of the grille, we already know more or less what the 2013 ES sedan will look like, thanks to leaked pictures on a Chinese website. The new ES features the same spindle grille and LED running lights that have begun appearing on other updated and new Lexus models. We expect it to return as the ES350 using the same 3.5-liter V-6 as the new Camry, which is good for 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. A new, greener variation of the ES is likely to borrow the hybrid powertrain from the Camry hybrid and go by the name of ES300h. With Lexus's newfound sporty bent, we wouldn't be too surprised to see an ES F Sport, as well—both the new GS sedan and revised 2013 RX crossover.
