Dune buggies, whether they're based on an old Volkswagen floorpan or an extravagant tube-frame chassis, are always awesome. And when you mix sand with a lot of open space, you can do even pretty ridiculous things in them. We have a staffer who daily drove one for about two years to and from our Michigan office—year round—but his ride was nothing like the V-8–powered beasts with paddle tires these fellows from the United Arab Emirates are rocking.

As the video makes clear, the UAE isn't hurting for sand or space, so it's no wonder buggying is a thing over there. The rigs themselves have a claimed 800 horsepower, and that seems like a conservative estimate based on the way the things wheelie on demand, and we want one—bad.
