Vehicles Affected: Approximately 19,000 model-year 2014 Mazd6 sedans manufactured from Oct. 25, 2012, through May 9, 2013
The Problem: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reporting that it is possible to fill the fuel tanks in the affected vehicles beyond the rated capacity. This could cause a possible fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the tank and add an adapter to the fuel tank's shut-off valve for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mazda has already started notifying owners. Owners can call Mazda at 800-222-5500 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 for more information.
