2014 Nissan Rogue Real-World Cargo Space

IMG_6036

The redesigned 2014 Nissan Rogue is a much more space-efficient compact SUV than the outgoing model with a big jump in cargo room. It offers an additional 10.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row compared to the 2013 version, and 12.1 more cubic feet of total cargo space when the seats are folded. What's more, the new model has nearly the same footprint as the old Rogue.

2014 Nissan Rogue Expert Review

The Rogue's 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row is competitive with the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, which offer two of the largest interiors in the class. The RAV4 has 38.4 cubic feet and the Honda CR-V has 37.2 cubic feet. The Rogue's 70 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume is a little less than the RAV4 and CR-V at 70.9 and 73.4 cubic feet, respectively. See what items we fit in the Rogue's cargo area, below.

An optional third-row seat is definitely a child-only zone and also shrinks cargo volume to 9.4 cubic feet with both rows upright. Rogues without the third row have a clever cargo management system called Divide-N-Hide with underfloor storage and a removable shelf.  Objects shouldn't weigh more than 165 pounds when the shelf is in the middle position, and weight is limited to 30 pounds when in the upper position, according to the owner's manual. The second row folds in a versatile 20/40/20 split, and with the front passenger seat folded flat, Nissan says an 8-foot ladder can fit inside.
