Surprise! Ford Brought More Fiestas and Focuses to Vegas [2012 SEMA Show]

With a diminishing number of exceptions, Ford's lineup is globally streamlined, thanks to the brand's One Ford global strategy. This means that we get the same Focus, Fiesta, Fusion, and Escape that are offered around the world. How American are the new Fords? Quite, at least that's what you'd believe by looking at some of the projects served up by Ford's select aftermarket tuners who've turned up for the SEMA show. Low and loud, they fit the very stereotype of an American tuner car. There are one or two, however, that play on a rather European theme. VACCAR Night Walker Ford Focus We didn't know the Ford Focus four-door sedan had any Sith-like qualities to tap in to, but thanks to VACCAR, the always is more to be learned about the dark side of the force. Ford confirms the concept "craves raw power and sheer speed." The Night Walker Focus is equipped with a sharply upgraded 2.0-liter turbo, including an EFI nitrous system. The fact that it is mated to a five-speed manual strikes us as a retro touch. Changes to the exterior are subtle; the combination of matte and glossy accents creates a somewhat-menacing look. Watch out, as the press release warns us, because this Focus is "ready to attack the streets without a moment's notice." That's so Darth Maul. Marketing in Motion Ford Fiesta Marketing in Motion has been in the customizing business for 15 years, its expertise culminating in this year's street-legal Fiesta SE concept. Don't expect street-burning performance from this 1.6-liter four-banger that's mated to a six-speed automatic. But it looks cool with a white paint job accentuated by wegde-style black stripes and red pinstripes, not to mention its pearl leather and suede interior. Too bad the exhaust pipes are virtually hidden, but hey, this is an honest concept. B-Spec Magazine Ford Fiesta You can't get much lower to the asphalt than B-Spec magazine's Fiesta, a concept equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo and a five-speed manual gearbox. The air suspension that drops this Fiesta can be controlled by a wireless device, and the lay-frame approach goes well with the 17-inch Rotiform wheels. This Candy Blue Fiesta is an environmentally conscious device, and so it is fitting that it comes with a bicycle and a Thule roof-mounted bike rack, although neither of those features sat with B-Spec's Fiesta on the stand.
