2014 Kia Forte Sedan: Less Displacement, More Goodies [2012 L.A. Auto Show]

It's not easy being a design leader. Right after former Audi and VW designer Peter Schreyer left the VW Group for Kia, the Korean carmaker began working on an orchestrated campaign to launch itself as a leading force in automotive design. And the brand has since unveiled an unusual number of beautiful and highly functional road and concept cars, such as the Rio hatchback, the Optima, and the rear-wheel-drive GT concept. Expectations were high for the next-generation Forte—which was previewed by the global-market Cerato, which debuted over the summer—but what we see in the 2014 model marks a departure from the cold and aloof styling language we've seen so far.
