Hyundai has released the first two of the ads it will run during Super Bowl 50. Both 30-second spots highlight the safety/convenience features of the Elantra, which has been redesigned for 2017. The Elantra's latest tech features prove just the thing for combating the dangers posed by bears—and by Hollywood hunks.
-In "The Chase," a guy and a girl are running through the forest, pursued by two bears. The enterprising dude yells, "Start my car!" at his smartwatch, and his Elantra fires up. The pair then hop in the car and speed away, escaping the voracious bears. Or maybe not so voracious. One bear says, "I just wanted to hug 'em," but the other responds, "I was gonna eat 'em." Either way, remote start saves the day!
--The other spot, "Ryanville," focuses on a much different menace—that posed by overly handsome actors. Two young women are cruising through a neighborhood in which all the men look like Ryan Reynolds—because they all are Ryan Reynolds. The ladies become so distracted by the passing scene that they almost hit a Ryan Reynolds crossing the street walking a passel of dogs. Luckily, the Elantra's forward collision warning with pedestrian detection brakes automatically and saves the day!

The Elantra spots are just two of the four ads Hyundai is airing during the big game. Hyundai, which is an official NFL sponsor, also is running a 30-second spot for its new Genesis sedan and a 60-second ad for the brand overall.
