Ford is recalling 411,205 cars in the U.S. for fuel tanks that can crack, the company said Monday.
--
The 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan have faulty canister purge valves, which allow excess gas vapors from the tank to recirculate back into the engine. That can stress the tank's walls due to repeated changes in pressure, potentially causing the top of the tank to crack and leak fuel. Documents citing warranty claims were not yet available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There have been no reports of fires, injuries, or crashes. At a later date, dealers will update the powertrain control software and replace the canister purge valve, and if necessary, the entire tank.
-During the past 13 months, Ford has recalled nearly 300,000 Edge and Lincoln MKX models for fuel tank leaks and 45,000 other cars for fuel pump failures.

Ford is also recalling 13 brand-new 2016 F-650 trucks that could roll away when parked. Dealers will replace the steering column, which Ford says has a faulty parking mechanism that can break when the trucks are loaded and set on an incline.
