2014 Dodge Durango: More Features, Same Price

2014-dodge-durango

Dodge is using an appealing formula for its updated-for-2014 Durango: more features without a price increase. For 2014, the seven-passenger crossover gets refreshed styling, an updated multimedia system and a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. When the Durango goes on sale during the fall of this year, it'll start at $30,790 — the same as model-year 2013 versions (all prices include destination).

SXT, Rallye, R/T and Citadel models return for 2014; the Limited trim level is new. The Durango's two engines also carryover: standard on SXT and Limited versions is the 290-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6; power is bumped to 295 hp on Rallye and Citadel models. Available on the Limited and standard on R/T trims is the 5.7-liter V-8, good for 360 horsepower.

A new standard eight-speed automatic controlled with a rotary dial is the sole transmission for 2014, and it improves fuel economy. With the V-6, Dodge says the combo is good for up to 25 mpg on the highway; two-wheel-drive 2013 models are EPA rated at 16/23 mpg city/highway with the old five-speed automatic. Model-year 2013 V-8 versions equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission are rated at 14/20 mpg; Dodge says 2014 V-8s should get up to 23 mpg on the highway.

Inside, a 5-inch Uconnect touch-screen is standard and an 8.4-inch touch-screen with downloadable apps is newly available. Additional highlights in the cabin include a new 7-inch customizable gauge cluster and an optional dual-screen Blu-ray rear-seat entertainment system.

Trim level pricing is below.

SXT: $30,790

Rallye: $33,985

Limited: $36,990

R/T: $39,990

Citadel: $41,990
