2013 SRT Viper Potentially Previewed by Hot Wheels Rendering [New York Auto Show]

2013 SRT Viper Hot Wheels renderingThe first image of the 2013 SRT Viper, one of this year's most highly anticipated cars, was leaked by a toy manufacturer? Maybe. Maybe not. Die-cast watchers across the web claim to have found the rendering in a new Hot Wheels catalog. If that catalog does indeed exist, it's nowhere to be found online now.

The car in the photo certainly looks like what you'd expect the 2013 Viper to look like, based on a teaser image SRT recently released of the car's front end and spy photos we've seen of the next-gen car. Both suggest the 2013 model will recycle most of the previous car's shape but use a new front end, and this rendering's lack of outrageous embellishment jibes well with that—we also expect a much-improved interior, further weight savings through the use of more composites and aluminum, and a super-extra-powerful version of the Viper V-10 engine.

There's one big caveat to keep in mind: The blurry image you see here is an unauthenticated rendering of a toy car. That means the real deal—Hot Wheels or full-scale—could look different, and we won't know that for sure until the 2013 Viper debuts at the New York auto show in April.
