As conversation occasionally does among the Gen-X cohort at C/D, talk this afternoon turned to the '70s-chestnut television variety program Hee Haw. Which sent a certain staffer down a rabbit hole to find something automotively relevant to the show beyond Junior Samples' used-car commercial sketches. Which is how we discovered Jed, a primitive CGI donkey hawking an Equus africanus asinus car horn.
-Jed (whose spiel you can catch below) turned out to be merely the edge of the animal-noise horn spectrum. In fact, noveltycarhorns.com's animal-sounds page opened up a world of janky automotive pairings. Imagine, your clapped out S-Type or X-Type on budget plus-sized wheels could at last scream like a legit Jaguar instead of emitting the declassé moan of a rebodied '90s Ford.

Just think, the next time somebody cuts off your Fairmont, you could mash the button and with a realistic neigh, inform the offender that your car's special—that it rides on Mustang bones! Make your Moto Guzzi honk like a frantic goose! Your F-150 Lobo will finally howl like the wolf it is!
-We would, however, recommend against installing the "deer grunt" horn on anything you might drive on public roads during the rut. That, friends, is just asking for calamity.
