Still lightly camouflaged, here is the Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe in final testing at Hockenheim racetrack in Germany. To be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show this September, Mercedes-AMG's response to the BMW M4 is a surprisingly distinct and almost brutal variation of the rather elegant next-gen C-class coupe.
-We already know that the C63 and C63 S coupe will be powered by the same twin-turbocharged 469-hp or 503-hp 4.0-liter V-8 found in the AMG GT supercar (and in the C63 and C63 S sedan). The body will have entirely unique front and rear fenders to accommodate larger wheels and tires, and the center of gravity will be lower than the sedan's.
-These shots, released on Daimler's social-media channels today, reveal further details: The hood has a unique contour with "power domes," there is a large rear spoiler, and the front air intake mirrors that of the C63 sedan.

We expect the Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe to be priced similar to the sedan. But with a body that bears more than a passing resemblance with the AMG GT supercar, it looks to be the far more interesting of the two.
