Name That Shifter, No. 80: 2003 Acura 3.2CL Type-S

Name That Shifter 80

Shifter No. 80

On Monday we presented this week's shifter and asked you to identify the make and model of the vehicle from whence it came. The first commenter to correctly identify it as a 2003 Acura 3.2CL Type-S was Jesse M.—the year was easy to pin down because it was the only one the car was offered with a six-speed manual. Jesse will receive a Save the Manuals button and sticker as a reward.

The 3.2CL Type-S pictured here duked it out with a BMW 330ci in a 2002 comparison test. The 3.2 essentially was an Acura TL with two fewer doors and a 260-hp V-6. However, even though it cost less than the BMW, its front-wheel-drive layout was no match for the 330ci's dynamic goodness.
