After a long hiatus, a diesel version of Volkswagen's Beetle is back on the market. It will start at $24,065, including a $770 destination fee, when it goes on sale this August.

The 2013 Beetle TDI is the sixth Volkswagen diesel available in the U.S., and it uses VW's 140-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a standard six-speed manual or optional dual-clutch automated manual.
