Sorry, Dad: Rhys Millen Beats His Father’s World-Record Time at Pikes Peak

This year's Pikes Peak hill climb may have gotten off to a slow start, thanks to a wildfire-induced rescheduling, but it was destined to be full of fast considering 2012 is the first year the entire course has been paved. The uphill run was especially fast for Rhys Millen, who managed to wrangle his specially prepared Hyundai Genesis coupe up the mountain in a blistering 9 minutes, 46.164 seconds—well below the magic 10-minute mark—setting a new world record for the Time Attack 2WD class.
