Here's What a Base Cadillac ATS Looks Like

Cadillac ATS
The 2013 Cadillac ATS has a starting price of $33,990, including an $895 destination fee, but that doesn't include the interior amenities you've probably assumed come with it after looking at Cadillac's image gallery or watching commercials for the car. Above is the base ATS' interior.

The base model, the 2.5-liter Standard, is the only one equipped with a non-touch-screen system. Instead, it comes with a somewhat straightforward radio unit along with a 4.2-inch display, dual USB inputs, an SD card slot, auxiliary audio jack and a seven-speaker Bose audio system.

The radio unit's buttons are still touch-sensitive "capacitive" controls. Buttons on the radio unit are for favorites pages (from left), power/volume radial, seek previous/fast reverse, seek next/fast forward, menu radial, homepage, radio, media, phone and back keys.

The rest of the center console is the same as what's available with the CUE multimedia system, except the base model has a top row of climate controls, including fan controls and an off switch for the climate system that are controlled through the touch-screen on models equipped with CUE. Like other models with CUE, the base ATS comes with a 5.7-inch display in the center console. The 2.5-liter Standard model can be equipped with CUE and a surround-sound system for an additional $1,350.

What do you think? Would you rather have these tactile controls or is the touch-centric route the better option?
