Fiat 500 was a great success and the brand sold 500,000 vehicles in just three years. Well, there is every reason for the Italian car maker to celebrate the huge success and in order to do that the brand has announced a special show car, the Fiat 500 Thousandth.

The celebration is will be different as the special edition will be covered entirely by 1500 photos displaying the faces of Fiat 500 customers, celebrities and fans incorporated into the paint.

This is not all but there is another milestone to celebrate as this summer marks Alfa Romeo’s 100th anniversary. And celebrations for both remain the same and a different model has been selected to mark Alfa Romeo’s 100th anniversary.

Alfa Romeo has selected its new Giulietta 5-door hatchback for the purpose and the car will feature mosaic of iconic images from the brands past including pictures from Alfa’s racing victories as well as notable movie appearances such as The Graduate.

Photo submissions are open to the general public who sign up for Fiat 500’s newsletter, but Fiat has reserved 70% of its face space for 500 owners. Whereas the Giulietta 5-door hatchback has a letdown as the Alfa Romeo contest is only open to U.K. residents. This is because 500 not on sale yet in the U.S. or Canada, disqualifying those countries from the majority of the faces on that car.

All the enthusiasts who want to try for a spot on the Fiat can register at fiat500.com or U.K. residents reading this can visit www.alfacentenary.co.uk to submit photos to Alfa Romeo.

  1. A real achievement that 500,000 were sold in just three years. Shows you that Fiat got the package right. I'm a 500 owner and I must say it's the best small car that anyone could wish for.
