In celebration of its 50th year, Porsche is launching a special edition version of its 911, with retro styling cues inside and out.

Based on the Carrera S model, the rear-wheel anniversary edition is powered by a 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine and a Powerkit that increases engine performance; the coupe is rated at 430 horsepower and has a top speed of 186 mph. Porsche says it's capable of a zero-to-60 sprint in 3.8 seconds with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4.2 seconds with the seven-speed manual.

Outside, the wide-body coupe wears special 20-inch matte black wheels with machine-polished centers. Other distinguishing features include chrome strips on the front air inlets, fins on the engine compartment grille and a two-tone 3-D badge on the rear lid with the numbers "911 50." Exterior paint colors are unique too, limited to a dark graphite gray, light geyser gray metallic and black monochrome.

Inside, the design is reminiscent of Porsche's '60s look with three-color embroidery details on the seats and surfaces and green labeling on the instruments with white pointer needles and silver caps on the instrument pivot pins. The seats wear a "Pepita" tartan design, also borrowed from the 1963 911.

Only 1,963 versions of the anniversary edition will be for sale starting this fall. Prices start at $125,050, including a $950 destination charge.
