The first Nissan-brand car to be built in South Korea will be the Rogue, Nissan's second most popular vehicle in America. The Japanese-built Rogue is a prime target for production in a market like South Korea, where export costs will be dramatically reduced. The weaker won and the US-South Korea free trade agreement make the Rogue, Nissan's 2nd best selling vehicle in the USA, a no-brainer for production at the Renault-Samsung facility. By the time production starts in 2014, the Rogue will be on its second generation, and the lower cost leaves the question of the car's direction open.
