Video: The Insane Koenigsegg One:1 Makes a Record-Smashing 0-300km/h-0 Run

Watch a Koenigsegg One:1 obliterate the 0-300km/h-0 record
-Koenigsegg's One:1 hypercar is just downright ludicrous. Named for its power-to-weight ratio—1340 hp moving an equal number of kilograms, just under 3000 lbs—this thing was built to blow minds.

-

We've seen a good handful of videos of the One:1 in action, blasting 220 mph at a supercar airstrip meetup, thundering around Suzuka Circuit, and even racing that other Swedish juggernaut of torque, the Volvo FH semi truck.

-

But Koenigsegg wants to tear apart the record book with the One:1. It's aimed the hypercar's crosshairs at the Nurburgring production-car lap record. And today, the Swedish carmaker released a video it claims shows a new world record for the 0-300km/h-0 sprint.

-

Koenigsegg describes this video as a practice run, filmed at the company's Angelholm, Sweden test track. Check out driver Serwanski's no-hands approach to blasting past 180 mph:

-

You'll note that Serwanski runs past 300 km/h on this acceleration run—since 200 mph converts to 321.9 km/h, it seems the team wanted to get measurements for both standard and metric records. And according to Koenigsegg's own data, the run netted a 0-300 km/h-0 record of 17.95 seconds.

That beats Koenigsegg's old record, set by the Agera R, by 3.24 seconds. And while this video was only taken during a practice session, and thus doesn't count as an official World Record, it gives a good hint at what the One:1 will do in a sanctioned record attempt.

-

The Agera R, we should point out, is no slouch, having set a whole bunch of Guinness World Records for acceleration itself. But the One:1 operates on an entirely different level.
