"We're still doing final quality checks and audits and will begin shipping cars in the coming weeks," Doran said.

Be assured, though, that when the Z06 does hit the streets, you'll know it. The $80,000 super-Vette gulps down 9.4 pounds of boost from an Eaton four-lobe supercharger to make 650 horses and an even 650 ft-lbs of torque. That makes this the most powerful car Chevy has ever produced, capable of blasting to 60 in 2.95 seconds on its way to a 10.95-second quarter-mile at 127 mph when equipped with the eight-speed auto. It will also sound just as throaty and Vette-like as ever while doing it.
But unless you're Rick Hendrick, you'll still have to wait a little while longer to get behind the wheel.
