Following the depressing news that a sinkhole had eaten eight historic Vettes at the National Corvette Museum this morning, the facility has posted footage of the vehicular tragedy. The museum staff has released actual security camera video of the sinkhole opening beneath several generations of Chevy's sports car.

All we can say is, wow. In the video, the orange '84 PPG pace car is first into the abyss, followed closely by the white 2009 Corvette (the 1.5 millionth built). Later, six other Corvettes also were swallowed. Watch for yourself below:
