According to Autoblog, the Volkswagen Jetta will receive a mid-cycle refresh before the end of the year. The news comes from Vinay Shahani, VW's vice president of marketing, who told Autoblog at last week's Chicago auto show that the makeover likely would be contained to the usual round of styling and interior changes, new exterior color choices, and new wheel designs.
Shahani also commented that VW looks at the Jetta as a "complementary" vehicle, and "hatchback consumers rarely jump to sedans." Thus, Volkswagen has no fear of a refreshed Jetta stealing the new Golf's thunder in showrooms.

We're pleased that the Jetta is going to be on the receiving end of a little nip and tuck, but what would really make us happy is if the solid rear axle currently residing under the North American Jetta's rump would be cast aside for a sexy multi-link, independent setup as in the hot-to-trot Jetta GLI. Until then, consider us members of Team Golf.
