Introducing Backfires Briefs, Home to Your Opinions, Musings, and Possibly Even Your Rants—and a Huge Kick-Off Prize

Boxers or briefs? Well, stretch up your tight short ones, because today we're talking about briefs—as in Backfires Briefs, the newest corner of Backfires! It works like this: For Level 4 and above community members, Briefs offers a chance to post a response to a periodic brief or question. The topics will range from current automotive trends, to opportunities to show off your automotive chops or taste. For the inaugural brief, which we've already posted to the Backfires Briefs section of Backfires, we're asking our Level 4ers to review their own car and submit either a video or written review. To help kick things off, the winning response to the first Brief will be awarded a trip to Indy to participate in a MINI Performance Driving School! Yes, get ready to freak the Brief out. Only entries submitted by Friday May 31 will be considered, and the one  with the most "likes" on Backfires—that's right, your fellow Backfires members will pick the first winner—by end of day Sunday June 2 gets the awesome prize. Going forward, entries that stand out will be showcased on the caranddriver.com homepage (what, you think we're made of MINI Performance Driving School passes?) and all responses will go on prominent display on the new Backfires main page. While the first Brief will be judged by your fellow Backfires members, future contests could be decided by C/D editors, Backfires members, or a mixture of both.
