| After bailing from the Detroit auto show for three years, Nissan was back in 2012 and returns again in 2013. This year's mega display even promises to waft soft music and, get this, a brand-specific fragrance throughout the stand. Prominent on that stage will be the Resonance concept, said to be an "envelope-pushing crossover" with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. Scuttlebutt has it that the Resonance will preview the next-generation Murano, which looks largely the same now as it did when it was launched just more than a decade ago.
Nissan is in the midst of revealing five new models in a span of 15 months, which began at last year's New York auto show when the 2013 Altima debuted. Of those five models, three of which—the aforementioned Altima, the Sentra, and the Pathfinder—already have been unveiled. An updated Murano would jive with what we expect to arrive from Nissan in the coming months. Just what the concept means for Nissan should become more transparent when the sheet is pulled off the Resonance next week in Detroit. from Car and Driver Blog http://blog.caranddriver.com | |||
