Recall Alert: 2012 Hyundai Veloster

Hyundai is recalling 4,490 model-year 2012 versions of the Veloster compact hatchback due to problems with the parking brake, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The affected vehicles have manual transmissions and were manufactured from July 2, 2011, through Feb. 27, 2012 (check your vehicle's build date on a sticker on the driver-side doorjamb). In these cars, moisture and road grime could corrode the parking brake's components, causing it to fail. This could lead to a crash. Hyundai will notify owners starting in January, and dealers will fix the affected parts for free.
