The growing second generation of the Mercedes-Benz GL family welcomes its first high-performance member; the 2013 GL63 AMG made its North American debut today. More 2012 L.A. Auto Show Coverage The GL63 AMG's drivetrain puts the most power behind the seven-speed automatic transmission common to all four GL-Class vehicles for the 2013 model year; the other three bowed earlier this year at the 2012 New York Auto Show. The all-wheel-drive GL63 AMG's new twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 offers 550 horsepower and 560 pounds-feet of torque and a top speed of 174 mph. Matte-silver trim along the lower fascia and a gloss-black grille complete the new look. "V8 BiTurbo" badges are mounted on the front fenders, and aluminum-finish running boards under the doors are illuminated.
