BMW Adds xDrive to 1-series Lineup in a Number of Markets, Just Not This One [2012 Paris Auto Show]

The xDrive badges that adorn BMW's all-wheel-drive offerings will serve as focal points for part of the Bavarians' display at this year's Paris auto show. How else could the brand visually provide a debut for the feature in its 1-series hatchbacks? (We're assuming a stand tilted 45 degrees in order to display front half-shafts probably isn't in the cards.) Three- and five-door hatchback versions of the 120d and M135i will receive all-wheel drive in a number of global markets, but there aren't any plans to bring xDrive to U.S.-spec 1-series any time soon.
