The union has tried to organize before – campaigns in 2005 and 2007 ended with the UAW unable to even organize a vote. According to Automotive News, the UAW has been working over the last 6 months to unionize the plant in Canton, which builds the Nissan Titan, Quest and Altima. Union President Bob King apparently feels that an automaker backlash against organizing will drive workers to unionize. History, of course, is not on the UAW's side, with foreign plants located in the South being famously hostile to the UAW. King accused Nissan of mis-representing the UAW to workers during information sessions held at the plant, but a Nissan spokesman told AN
