| The first time Lamborghini built a one-off J car, things didn't end well. The Jota (pronounced "YO-ta"), a Miura P400 modified to play race car, took its name from the FIA rulebook's Appendix J. It was cooked up by Lamborghini test driver Bob Wallace, who used the car as an R&D vehicle before the company sold it into private hands. Legend has the unlucky new owner or one of his charges losing control of the car and crashing it near Brescia; it subsequently burned to the ground.
