With 201 horsepower and 38 mpg highway, the Veloster Turbo has the Mini Cooper S and Fiat 500 Abarth beat on paper in those two areas, but faces a significant battle when it comes to outright driving enjoyment. The vase Veloster isn't the most engaging car, and the Mini Cooper S and 500 Abarth seem to have that part of the equation nailed down, as well as having whatever prestige one can get from owning a European car.
