Recall Alert: 2011-12 Ferrari 458 Italia, 2012 Ferrari California

Ferrari is recalling 74 model-year 2011-12 versions of two if its exotic cars, the 458 Italia and California, because of problems with the crankshaft, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Because of incorrect machining, the crankshaft may fail, possibly resulting in the engine seizing. This could lead to an accident. Ferrari will notify owners later this month, and dealers will repair or replace the engine free of charge.
