Technology is marching its way into the thick of things sending the vehicles on a futuristic roller with each passing day, yet keeping eco-credentials in the hood. Judging by the kind of conceptual dashboards high school students have designed for the Dash+ Contest we can surely reflect on what we could expect from our car’s dashboard in the future.

The school teams from Dash Tech of Dearborn, Michigan, EDV Technologies of Santa Barbara, California and Harker Innovation Team of San Jose, California have suggested dashboards with in-dash avatar to coach drivers toward efficiency, with smart navigation system to inform when to take public transport instead of the car and with a web enabled dashboard that rewards the economical drivers with “green points” redeemable for discounts at participating retailers respectively.

The winner of the DASH+ contest will be decided via online voting, so you can vote in for your favorite team that you think has a dash design that’ll maximize fuel efficiency by encouraging drivers to drive with a green foot.

After four years of designing and development, New Zealand’s Hulme has finally launched its Supercar named the “CanAm” after 1967 F1 champion Denny Hulme. Produced in a limited edition of just 20 cars, the mid-engined roadster is intended to run on both road and track. Presenting the rear wheel drive through a Quaife six-speed manual gearbox, the CanAm takes the braking system and safety aids from A.P. racing and Bosch respectively. Generating power from a LS7 V-8 engine, producing 600 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, the Supercar is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in less than three seconds and can reach the top speed of above 200mph. Potential buyers needs to submit fully refundable £10,000 (about $14,400) to get their name on the order list.

The brain child of Taeho Yoon, the concept vehicle is all about user comfort, ads more to driving experience and works as a depression reliever. Dubbed the Muon, the concept car is optimally customized for physical and psychological condition in the first place. The concept car’s steering wheel features sensors that reads the pulses and plays the music on the internet as soon as the occupant touches it. Not only this, but the car has a mechanism that notes the feelings of the user and music that was played to repeat it in the future. Also, there is 100% personalized thermo sensor and heating wire in the seat to warm the body in the freezing cold weather. Vehicle takes care of the mood and e.g. a warm and fresh breeze of phytoncide is given off from the vent on the IP face to comfort occupant’s depressed soul. The interior of the vehicle is made from the complete environment-friendly material that gives one an impression to be in the greenhouse of the garden.

Schmittenhöhebahn has a long history of more than four decades to carry millions of visitors in summers and winters from Zell am See, Austria, to Schmittenhöhe. But finally it’s a time to replace its two old red cabins with the latest generation of new cable cars. For that purpose, they partnered with Porsche Design Studio to develop the specifications for the fifth generation of Schmitten aerial tramway cabins thus giving the red cabins new Porsche looks.

The cable cars make a captivating impression with their compelling combination of design and function. Two new cabins with the h/b/l: 270/270/430-510 cm dimensions and increased capacity of 45 persons per cabin; 30 persons with bar installed can travel to Schmittenhöhe (2000 meters above sea-level) in just eight minutes.

The other design specifications include a strong focus on safety and a comfortable ride, full-length glazing, extra-wide doors and the latest safety features. And for those fun loving people, one of the cabins has a mobile bar and high-end multimedia system installed so that it can be used for private parties and company events.
