This V-Rod based custom motorcycle by French Custom Builder Bertrand Dubet is a vision of a modern two wheeler born from the numerous design features calculated by a CAD software program. However, Bertrand, of course, goes beyond from merely producing the eye catching and colorful digital renderings to convert the basic concept into a feasible yet reliable machine that pleases the onlookers. This X-Rod Custom Sport model in full rolling chassis features steel frame with mono swing-arm setup at a reasonable 38-degree rake, carbon fiber gas tank and fenders, 24” seat height and 68″ wheelbase. Wheels of the bike are 3.5″ x 18 upfront and 3.5″ x 18 at the rear and there is PM 6-piston brake at the front and PM 4-piston at the rear. Its powertrain is stock VRSC 69″ engine that electronic sequential port fuel injection with a 11.3:1 compression ratio producing 80 ft at 7000 rpm. This bike will rule the roost at the AMD World Championship of Bike Building where this bike will be displayed in August this year.

The modes of transport are going to switch from land to air in times to come, because the congestion in the city will make it almost impossible for one to commute through lanes. Keeping this thing in mind, three students (Pan Jiazhi, Zhu Wenxi and Lai Zexin) from the South China University of Technology has envisioned a concept car that could be turned into a plane once the operation is switched to the flying mode through transformation. This is made possible by upturning two front wheels sideways and two back wheels outside allowing people to fly over the overcrowded roads to reach their destination on time. Also, the integration of the propeller into the back wheels endues the vehicle with two distinct mobile modes. YEE is super cool and a stunning racer while on the ground but when it spreads out its back wheels and starts its propeller, it can fly along a special air route.

Auto freaks, who fell for a brand or vehicle, they own it no matter how. Some purchase it, but those with deep pockets if couldn’t get one (due to other reasons), they build their own. But they own one for sure. Here is a similar case. The above-pictured car was built for a man who fell for a vehicle designed and built on an Alfa Romeo drivetrain by Bertone Studios, Italy. The man wanted to buy it, but Bertone wasn’t interested to part with the masterpiece called as Carabo by Bertone.

But the man was determined to have a similar car so hired Sam Foose, the father of Chip Foose, to built one for him. Sam built this one of a kind on a 1972 DeTomaso Pantera drivetrain. The vehicle was equipped with 351 Cleveland V8 Ford engine hooked to a 5-speed stick shift and hydraulic clutch. As per the sellers worlds, this vehicle is strictly a driving car but sans air conditioning and radio, its windows are fixed and the car is too fast to handle.

The vehicle has got power Lambo-style doors that are opened and closed with hidden switches inside and out. Priced at $200,000 in 1972, this beautiful replica is up for the grab at eBay with its bid ending on 31, 2010, 06:43:01 PDT.

Renderings for Porsche 918 RSR racer from a thirteen year old

Here are new renderings for the Porsche 918 RSR concept from a TeamSpeed forum user, PorscheCarreraGTMay6. And as per him, if Porsche will enter 918 RSR into production, there will most likely be a GT1 version of it. This user chooses the Porsche 918.

Here are new renderings for the Porsche 918 RSR concept from a TeamSpeed forum user, PorscheCarreraGTMay6. And as per him, if Porsche will enter 918 RSR into production, there will most likely be a GT1 version of it. This user chooses the Porsche 918 RSR because the model No. 918 is the reminiscent of 917 and added an RSR designation to the model that refers to a race version. The 918 RSR model will race the same competitions as the classical 917 race car.

The model will drop the pair of electric motors but will keep the 500hp V8. However, as per the GT1 regulations that allow no more than 600hp, Porsche may avoid using the air-restrictors from the engine to boost the output to 600hp. The vehicle will be having a top speed of 200mph and will touch 0 to 62mph in less than 3 seconds. It will weigh around 1,240 kilos, courtesy to stripped interior, more extensive use of carbon fiber, loss of the batteries and loss of amenities and reconstruction of body-work.

Porsche 918 RSR will feature wider track, redesigned front and rear diffusers, as well as a fixed hard-top roof and a huge rear wing. For the more delivery of power, 918 RSR’s ram air scoops will be permanently opened. Its headlights and rear-lights will also be revised. The vehicle will also get new mirrors positioned over the front-wheels straight from the Carrera GT. And surprisingly all these renderings are from a 13 year old. Nice job, chap!

New Volkswagen Passat. First photo

New Volkswagen Passat

German edition AutoBild has published the first image of new generation Passat. And, as assure edition of the newspaper, before us the photo of serial model, which official presentation will take place in october this year on a motor show in Paris. Representatives of German concern refuse to make comments, that image of a photo new generation Passat had appeared in hands of journalists AutoBild – apparently, it is a question of elementary information leakage.

New Volkswagen Passat becomes slightly larger than the present car, but thus the weight of the car should even decrease it becomes possible using modern materials in a model design. As to design wait for revolutionary changes is not necessary. Outwardly the car will resemble in many respects on updated Phaeton which has been recently presented on a motor show in Beijing.

What will enter into a base complete set of model, yet is not informed. But it is possible not to doubt that equipment Passat will appear very good – in this plan Passat should come nearer closely to senior Phaeton.

Under cowl Volkswagen Passat, apparently, will put only turbo engines, and the most modest will appear the petrol motor in volume only 1,2 l which gives out 105 h.p. Also there will be a 1,4-litre unit with forced aspiration and engines in volume of 2,0 l. Well and the most powerful unit there will be V6 in volume 3,0 l, capacity of an order 300 h.p.

Someone once challenged Mike Price, a New Zealander, that he couldn’t build a motorbike hearse. The automotive engineer took the challenge and created what comes out to be world’s first motorcycle hearse. Powered by the 1,350cc Harley-Davidson engine, Motorcycle Hearse incorporates a button pushing which the rig slides out the coffin at 90 degrees to let the pallbearers do the rest. On the other, there is a complex hydraulic system that helps stabilize the bike. Motorcycle Hearse needs two riders to take the deceased from place to place. The monster is 4.8 meters long, weighs around 600kg, has five gears and an adjustable underbelly cradle which is capable to carry up to 440 lbs.
