Geneva motor show, as many anticipate, will be all about electric and hybrid cars. And it’s true. Introducing to you is Seat’s IBE which is a four seater concept car with CO2 emission at zero. And with stunning design, this compact sports coupé gives great driving fun in the age of electric mobility.

Coming to the dimension of IBE, it is 378cm long, has a width of 1,80cm and an overall height at 122cm, giving the IBE classic sports car proportions. It also flaunts low V-shaped bonnet, long roof line as well as a short front and rear overhangs and 19-inch alloys, collectively adding more to its sporty looks.

Designed by Luc Donckerwolke, Seat’s IBE concept which is a fully electric car with lithium-ion batteries positioned at the rear end has a maximum output of 102hp and 200 Nm of torque, a top speed of 160km/h and the capability to race from 0-100km/h in 9.4 seconds.

IBEs front is defined by full-LED headlamps, two air intakes in the lower bumper and rear light clusters also feature LED light guide technology with a hint of a diffuser beneath the rear bumper area reflecting the visual of the front air intakes.

Porsche unveils stunning 918 Spyder plug in hybrid concept at Geneva

Putting aside all those views that there is no surprises left in Geneva, Porsche has shocked the world when unveiled its mid-engine 918 Spyder concept. The plug in hybrid concept car offers traditional rubber-burning performance without guzzling down a whole lot of fuel.

This vehicle is powered with a V8 engine producing massive 500hp and a pair of electric motors powered by lithium-ion battery pack (for front and rear axle) that generates 218hp additional power. On the top of that, Porsche 918 Spyder has 7-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe PDK transmission, enabling it to race from 0-62mph in 3.32 seconds with top speed locked at 198 mph.

On the other, as Porsche says, spyder concept can achieve 78mpg and emit just 70 grams of CO2 per kilometer. This mid-engined two-seater flaunts different driving modes: E-Drive, Hybrid, Sport Hybrid and Race Hybrid. And herein the E-Drive mode lets 918 Spyder to run on pure electricity for 16 miles. Hybrid mode is for everyday around town driving. In Sport Hybrid mode both powertrains are used and the Race Hybrid mode means all systems are go for the lowest lap times possible.

Further, this car is equipped with a push to pass button that adds a bit of E-boost on the straights and regenerative braking is present and accounted for. Made from carbon fiber monocoque and with the extensive use of aluminum and titanium, the car weighs 3,285 lbs.

F1 this time will mark the debut of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG which is a spectacular and powerful Official F1 Safety Car of all time. SLS AMG Gullwing will replace SL 63 AMG (used in F1 2008 and 2009) as an official F1 safety car for 2010 season. However, the new Safety Car will remain mechanically unchanged from the street ready version with the only exception of slightly augmented tailpipe.

SLS AMG will feature 6.3-liter AMG V8 engine generating 571-hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Along with that, it features AMG speed shift DCT 7-speed sports transmission with double-clutch technology and AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system which is aimed to minimize the brake distances.

The vehicle also flaunts a new carbon fiber hood with front-mounted camera, an all-LED roof light bar, and a rear number plate with an integrated camera. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be having an advantage of getting the same engine, power transmission, suspension, and brake system as the standard-production SLS AMG.

As the vehicle has the Superleggera badge, it means it will be lighter to the standard model. Hence the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera has been trimmed by 70kg and that means the dry weight will be no more than 1340kg. And this makes it the lightest road-going model in Lamborghini’s range.

The first successor to the original Gallardo Superleggera, Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera is powered by a direct-injected 5.2-liter V10 of the same origin making its namesake 570hp. On the other, with the lighter weight and increased power in comparison to LP 560-4, this car races from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed at 202mph.

The other features include the use of lots of carbon fiber that help reduce weight, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels are clad in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber, optional carbon ceramic disc brakes, permanent all-wheel drive, and a six-speed e-gear transmission.

Also, its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 20,5 percent compared to the previous model, thus bringing a whole new meaning to the term ‘Super sportscars’.

Before Geneva Motor show finally commences, the list of surprises is getting longer and loner. And another bombshell is much talked about Ferrari 599 Hybrid that was leaked before the wraps finally go off at Geneva.

The Ferrari lovers though got the images, but there’s no hard information to go off of yet. However, images give an insight about what the ‘green’ 599 concept model would feature.

This new concept is equipped with an electric motor that would be producing 100hp and 137Nm of torque. The electric motor is attached on the back-end of the rear-mounted transmission, and a battery pack located under the floor.

Ferrari, as it is expedited, will use a version of Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) that debuted during the 2009 Formula 1 season on the 599. Also, This extra power is a quid pro quo for the extra weight of approximately 100kg, thus making this 599 Hybrid faster than the stock model.

The twin rear heat exhaust-ducts of this zero-emission concept car are fed by the air intake used to keep electric motors cool. Also, the diffusers aid air flow in this vehicle creates the down-force, the battery pack is equally distributed and the vehicle has a 1+1 seating layout for finest weight distribution.
